The just-ended gender discrimination trial in which Ellen Pao sued the VC firm Kleiner Perkins for discrimination and retaliation and failure to protect women at the firm from discrimination has called attention to not only the lack of diversity but the outmoded macho attitudes in some VC firms and elsewhere in tech. Together with the two suits filed by former employees of Facebook and Twitter, the latter possibly about to become a class-action suit, Ms. Pao’s loss looks like turning into everyone’s gain.
